English Language Programmes

How do I apply for my child to come to a Cherwell Education Summer School? 

To Apply for a course, parents must fill in an application form with as much detail as possible and email it to info@cherwell.org.uk/. Alternatively, you can send it to our main office at 5 Southampton Place, London, WC1A 2DA.

Once we have received your application form, we will confirm that we have reserved a place for your child by sending a confirmation letter. The letter will confirm the course, campus and dates you have chosen as well as payment details.

How do I pay for the course? 

Once you have applied for one of our schools, we will contact you confirming your reservation and requesting payment.

Please note that you are responsible for all bank charges and if we do not receive the full amount, we will normally need to ask for the remaining payment to be made.

My child will need a visa to visit the UK, can Cherwell help with this? 

Cherwell are able to recommend someone to help with all Visa matters, there will be an extra charge for this service.

What does my child need to bring with them? 

Please consult our guide about what to bring and useful information about the UK.

Do Cherwell have any information to read before arriving? 

We will also send you a pre-arrival guide specific to your chosen course once we have received your deposit.

Is insurance needed? 

Yes, all students will be expected to have organised their own travel insurance before attending one of our courses.

Will someone meet my child at the airport? 

Yes, a member of the Cherwell team will be there to meet each student that has arranged an airport transfer. Please check the airline rules for those intending to travel as an unaccompanied minor, as sometimes their require the contact information of the person meeting them arrival.

What are the class sizes? 

The maximum class sizes for English are 10.

What qualifications do Cherwell staff have? 

All our Staff on campus are qualified Primary or Secondary English teachers, or CELTA/TEFL/TESOL qualified. They have had all relevant training for the Safeguarding of children to ensure that they can provide a safe and caring environment for all students.

What are the sleeping arrangements? 

All children will sleep in quality approved school or university boarding facilities in single or twin rooms. Boys and girls are separated, and children will be placed in groups of a similar age range.

Who do I contact if I have any questions during the summer school? 

You can contact the campus manager, or assistant manager, at any time via the telephone numbers on the letters provided during the application process.
